Is a granola bar a healthy snack?
Cranberry granola bars are packed with fiber. While there is sugar in this recipe, using maple syrup is a better alternative than traditional white sugar or corn syrup like in store bought ones. With no artificial ingredients, these homemade granola bars are a healthy snack idea.
How do you get granola bars to stick together?
The maple syrup and flax seed combine together to make the glue in these granola bars. In order to make sure the bars stick together, you want to make sure you measure your ingredients. If you over measure the add ins, the flax seed or the oats, there won’t be enough of the wet ingredients to hold the oats together.
How Long Can You Keep Homemade Granola Bars?
When you make homemade granola bars, there isn’t all of those preservatives that boxed bars have. You will need to store the bars in an airtight container. Keep them at room temperature for about a week. After a week the bars will start to taste a little stale.
