Holy Kale, these things are delicious!!

In our home this simple snack is gone in minutes!! This is probably the easiest snack I have ever made. My oldest daughter is eight and learning to make them all by herself. It is no secret that if you can somehow add this super food into your eating habits, it is safe to say you are on the right track. Kale has so many health benefits and not to mention absolutely delicious and versatile.

When I was young I remember my mom adding greens into our meals here and there. They were never something I loved or hated, but never had them enough to think of adding them into the eating habits of my children. Five years ago, we changed the way we look at food and how it effects our bodies. Kale is the one food we try and add into our breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack and smoothies.

What are some ways you can add kale into your everyday eating habits?

Breakfast: Kale goes perfect with eggs and potatoes ( sweet or white)! So make sure to check out our Loaded Bacon Breakfast Potato.

Lunch: Add the kale to your greens when making a salad or wrap! Check out our Chickpeas Salad.

These are just a few ways you can throw in this green, super food and nobody will know the difference, but everyone will reap the benefits.

What are those benefits?? Read for yourself!!

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch organic kale
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt course
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes

Instructions

  • Wash kale and remove from the stem. Allow to sit until completely dry. Lay a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and spread out the kale pieces. Place the coconut oil in your hands and gently massage the kale until it is lightly coated. Next add all of your spices.
  • Place your oven on 170 degrees. Allow the kale to bake for 1 hour or until crunchy. Make sure to flip half way through.

Notes

Make sure kale is completely dry before  placing on the cookies sheet. Damp kale leads to mushy kale.
